ECR Minerals appoints Andrew Haythorpe as chief executive

ECR has an extensive gold exploration portfolio in Australia

ECR Minerals PLC (AIM:ECR) has appointed Andrew Haythorpe as chief executive.

Haythorpe will join ECR as a non-board CEO prior to assuming the role of executive director, subject to approval, in six months’ time.

Haythorpe has more than 30 years of experience managing listed gold miners and explorers on the ASX and TSX as well as working as a mining analyst and actively exploring for gold as a geologist.

He has significant experience as a board member on numerous listed mining companies including as managing director of Crescent Gold Ltd.

Under his leadership Crescent reached a market capitalisation of A$250mln (£143mln) within four years. He was also managing director of ASX-listed gold producer Michelago Resources.

He is also the managing director of GoldOz Ltd, a gold company seeking to relist on the ASX.

“I am delighted ECR has attracted a chief executive of Andrew’s calibre,” said ECR’s chairman David Tang.

“With more than 30 years of experience as a managing director and chairman of junior and mid-tier gold explorers and producers, he’ll be an exceptional addition to our team.”
