Businesses that adopt hybrid working can save thousands on employee costs, according to new research.
More companies are warming to the idea of flexible working and a study conducted by serviced office group IWG PLC (LSE:IWG) (IWG PLC (LSE:IWG)) suggests hybrid working can save an organisation roughly £8,100 per employee.
Saving on overhead costs, such as rent, heating and support staff generate the savings, it said, adding the size or scale of the company is irrelevant.
Global banks with over 200,000 employees as well as smaller companies with less than 2,000 employees can reap the benefits.
Employees can also save money, too.
Confused.com found that individuals can save an average of £128 per month if they work a balanced blend between home and office and usually commute by car.
That number jumps to £328 per month should they travel in by train.
IWG predicts that the demand for hybrid working is set to rise, with more FTSE 250 companies looking to use the model compared to those wishing to pursue full-time office hours.
There are other benefits aside from saving money, according to the London listed company.
A reduction in carbon footprint, better work/life balance for employees, and improved work performance are all by-products of the hybrid work life.
“The rapid global rise in the adoption of the hybrid-working model, is here to stay,” said IWG founder and chief executive Mark Dixon.
