EQM Indexes' Global and ESG Product initiatives head Stephen Derkash joined Proactive to discuss current trends he's seeing in the global solar energy area.
Derkash discusses how the current crisis in Ukraine has questioned Europe's dependence on gas and oil, as the country imports around one third of its gas from Russia. He also brings up secular drivers, including the transition to clean fuels, creating a positive catalyst for solar energy. Derkash says he believes most of the companies within its solar energy index are well positioned to perform well in the next few months.
