Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) said it has begun a prospecting and rock geochemical sampling program at its multi-metallic Mascarene property in New Brunswick.
The company said rock sampling is currently being conducted in the area of the Wheal Louisiana copper- nickel-cobalt occurrence, where previous sampling also confirmed gold mineralization.
Great Atlantic noted that it conducted limited sampling during 2020, which confirmed copper and gold mineralization in rubble adjacent to an historic shaft and a near-by pit in this target area.

The company said that a rubble sample of mafic rock returned 6.19% copper and 0.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
As well, Great Atlantic reported that it recently completed a five-hole diamond drilling program in the area of the Wheal Louisiana occurrence with chalcopyrite bearing veins being intersected.
The drill core from the program is currently being logged and sampled, the company said.
Mascarene covers an area of approximately 2,080 hectares and is located about 6 kilometers southwest of the town of Saint George.
Great Atlantic Resources is exploring assets in the resource-rich and sovereign risk-free realm of Atlantic Canada, one of the number one mining regions of the world.
It has a project generator model and has a special focus on critical elements - antimony, tungsten and gold.
