Belmont Resources reveals longest intercept of copper mineralization to date at its Lone Star JV in Washington State

“It’s great to see the drilling further unlock our knowledge of the Lone Star deposit and extend the envelope of mineralization well beyond the previously defined limits,” Belmont Resources CEO George Sookochoff said

Belmont Resources Inc (TSX-V:BEA) has announced results from the latest batch of assays at the Belmont-Marquee Resources Lone Star joint venture (JV) in Washington State, which included the longest intercept of copper mineralization to date of 149.4 metres (m) of 0.8% copper equivalent from 12.8m depth.

The company said recent results show that the copper mineralization extends well beyond the extents of historical drill holes.

“It’s great to see the drilling further unlock our knowledge of the Lone Star deposit and extend the envelope of mineralization well beyond the previously defined limits,” Belmont Resources CEO George Sookochoff said in a statement.

“These results validate the geological model developed by the Project Geologist on-site and opens up the potential to identify further sub-vertical, well-mineralized rhyolite dykes,” Sookochoff added.

Belmont noted that results from a further six completed drill holes are still outstanding, as drilling continues 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It added that 25 diamond drill holes, or 4,664m, have been completed to date at Lone Star with full assay results from the first 18 drill holes having been received.

As well, the company said it expects the Phase 1 drill program to be completed in the first quarter of this year, with a resource estimate targeted for delivery sometime during the first half of 2022.

Belmont Resources is engaged in the business of acquiring and re-developing past-producing copper-gold-silver mines in southern British Columbia and northern Washington State. This region is considered to have the highest concentration of mineralization and past-producing mines in western North America.
