Castillo Copper announces management changes

The base metal explorer has promoted Ged Hall to chairman and Dr Dennis Jensen to managing director

Castillo Copper Ltd (LSE:CCZ, ASX:CCZ) announced that Ged Hall has been promoted from non-executive director to chairman and Dr Dennis Jensen has been promoted from chief executive to managing director.

The changes take place with immediate effect, with Dr Jensen also joining the board of directors at the base metal explorer.

These promotions are because of the retirement of chairman Rob Scott, who oversaw the “successful expansion of the asset portfolio” during his time at the London-listed company.

According to a statement, the decision to keep the current management team intact was taken to ensure a seamless transition following Scott’s departure.

“Castillo Copper has an excellent suite of assets which we are determined to create value from moving forward,” said incoming chairman Hall.

“Our current primary focus areas remain on developing the cobalt potential in Broken Hill and copper in the Mt Isa region.”

“We are now actively looking for strategic partners to develop our Zambia assets and Cangai Copper Mine.”
