The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) (The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS)) hired Jeremy Doig as chief technology officer (CTO) of its streaming business.
With more than 18-years experience working at Google, the BBC and Microsoft, Doig will head the global technology teams at Disney Plus, Hulu, ESPN Plus and Star Plus, according to reports.
Previously, Doig was involved in developing streaming protocols and audio and video compression technologies for Google.
Doig replaces Joe Inzerillo, who helped build Disney Plus and joined SiriusXM earlier this year.
Doig will join Disney Streaming next month and will report directly to Michael Paull, president, Disney Streaming.
Disney Streaming is part of Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED), which is responsible for the monetisation of content from Disney’s studios and networks.
