Perpetual Resources’ analysis of Beharra Silica Sand Project data suggests material reduction in impurity profile

“We are targeting an iron content of close to 100ppm (parts per million) at Beharra, and believe the current testing has a strong chance of delivering our target results," says executive chair Julian Babarczy.

Perpetual Resources Ltd (ASX:PEC) has completed a desktop analysis of geochemistry data from the Beharra Silica Sands Project in Western Australia that suggests parts of the deposit contains low impurities and high silicon dioxide (SiO2) ratios.

Analysis of white sand-only data from the upper white horizon of the deposit was undertaken to better understand the positive implications of recent white sand-only drill results.

The potential for a very low impurity sub-domain presents an opportunity to focus development of the Beharra silica sand deposit on quality products that can address the high-growth Asian photovoltaic (PV) solar cell cover glass markets.

“Analysis is extremely encouraging”

“Our understanding of the Beharra ore body has advanced significantly since we announced initial metallurgical results that were used in the Beharra PFS (pre-feasibility study) in March 2021,” Perpetual Resources executive chair Julian Babarczy said.

“We have confirmed material reductions in the impurity profile at Beharra by focusing initially on the white sand horizon and now we have likely identified a thick sub-domain of premium white sand in the upper part of the identified white zone horizon.

“Our analysis is extremely encouraging, and we eagerly await results of the bulk metallurgical test-work which is currently in process.

“We are targeting an iron content of close to 100ppm (parts per million) at Beharra, and believe the current testing has a strong chance of delivering our target results.”

Perpetual recently announced a bulk metallurgical program, designed to demonstrate the differing chemical compositions of the various sub-domains identified so far, with the aim of focusing development on the highest quality horizon.

About Perpetual Resources

Perpetual Resources is focused on the global glass and foundry sand industries, which are the two largest and fastest-growing users of silica sand.

The company’s flagship asset, the Beharra Project in Western Australia, covers about 49 square kilometres and hosts predominantly high purity white (pale) sands with few impurities.

Perpetual has another exploration licence which covers 35.34 square kilometres and is bounded on the eastern extent by the Brand Highway and Geraldton Railway.
