Proton therapy is a very precise but currently very expensive cancer treatment but Advanced Onco’s light technology eliminates the need for much of the previously necessary infrastructure, says Nicolas Serandour, the company's CEO.
Later this year, AVO will demonstrate equipment that can produce a beam of ionising radiation with a power of 230 MeV.
At that point, AVO will be able to treat any tumour regardless of depth, says Serandour, following which it will begin the necessary procedures for regulatory approval.
