PYX says 63% of Indonesian employees donate blood

About one in three people need a blood infusion in their lifetime in Indonesia

PYX Resources Ltd (LSE:PYX, NSX:PYX) said 63% of its employees at its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Investasi Mandiri, took part in the country’s National Blood Donor Day.

This is the second consecutive year the zircon producer was involved, using the slogan ‘Give Blood, Save Life’ to encourage 57 workers to donate – up 14% from 2021.

PYX, which was the only company in its district to have an involvement in the blood bank drive, worked alongside The Indonesia Red Cross Society.

The company hopes the continued success of this initiative encourages other local companies to follow suit, it said in a statement.

In the country, which has a population of roughly 200mln and relies on blood donations to subsidise the shortfall of blood supplies, approximately one in three people need blood in their lifetime.

“Giving blood really does save life, and we're delighted that, once again, we've had a chance to play our part in raising awareness and encouraging people to give blood," Oliver Hasler, PYX chairman and chief executive, said.
