Twenty Seven Co Ltd (ASX:TSC) has called time on an auger drilling program at the Yarbu Gold Project in Western Australia.
The project is along the Marda-Diemals greenstone belt, 160 kilometres northeast of Southern Cross and 90 kilometres northwest of TSC ‘s Mt Dimer Gold-Silver Project, adjacent to Ramelius Resources’ Marda Gold Project.
Map of the broader tenement area
On time and to budget
The drilling program, which was delivered on time and to budget, was designed to test and infill previously identified bedrock geochemical signatures.
It used a low environmental impact Landcruiser-mounted auger drilling rig, with samples taken from an average depth of approximately 1.5 metres.
The company drilled 335 holes for 348 samples in and around the highest priority anomalies defined to date, including a large 1.9-kilometre by 1.4-kilometre anomaly with up to 164 parts per billion (ppb) gold in soil.
This program targeted previously identified anomalous zones of greater than 20 ppb gold, with coincidental lead and/or zinc anomalisms.
The anomalies previously discovered in the area serve to highlight a complex structural setting within the Yarbu tenements, and the broader, highly prospective, Yarbu project area remains tantalisingly underexplored.
Deeper drill targets to test
“We are pleased to have completed this follow-up auger program at Yarbu, on time and within budget,” CEO Simon Phillips said.
“With gold mineralisation already confirmed across three broad areas within the project area, we are looking forward to receiving the outcomes from this program before we refine our deeper drilling targets, which we aim to test later this year.
“We have a busy pipeline of activity planned for the coming months and we look forward to updating the market in due course.”
Next steps
The samples will be dispatched to Lab West in Perth and assayed using the low-level UltraFine fraction technique, which delivers highly sensitive analysis of gold and multi-elements in the ultrafine (less than 2µm) fraction of soil samples.
A number of work programs are underway or planned for TSC’s WA and NSW projects:
- Yarbu: the company will analyse pending assay results from auger drilling and identify areas of mineralisation and anomalism for follow-up exploration and drilling activity;
- NSW portfolio: TSC plans to undertake soil and rock chip sampling program over the northern end of Perseus, the southern end of Trident and the eastern side of Midas;
- Mt Dimer: all options are currently being assessed by TSC; and
- Rover Gold: the company awaits final multi-element and 1-metre gold results before defining the next phase of exploration.
