MGX Minerals Inc revealed that it has been inspired by the “significant increase” in the price of nickel to acquire the Letain Nickel project in British Columbia. Nickel prices have soared to all-time highs in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. On March 8, 2022, the London Metal Exchange suspended trading in nickel for the first time in its 145-year history after prices doubled in a matter of hours to $100,000 per metric ton. Prices have since eased back to about $80,000 per metric ton. According to the payment terms, MGX will pay $50,000 within 30 days the closing date, $100,000 within 180 days, $250,000 within 18 months and finally $350,000 within three years for a 90% interest in the promising nickel project.

Thesis Gold Inc (TSX-V:TAU) told investors it has identified another "highly prospective, multi-kilometre" drill target at its Ranch property in the famous Golden Horseshoe area of British Columbia, Canada. The near 0.5 kilometre (km) by 2 km anomalous footprint at Alberts Hump is consistent with epithermal-style mineralization and was defined by last year's exploration and is the largest target discovered so far at Ranch. The company noted that it still has around C$35 million in working capital to fund its ongoing approximate 50,000 metre (m) drill program, which will include testing Alberts Hump. "The Alberts Hump area displays many coincident anomalies from various datasets consistent with epithermal gold mineralization at Ranch," said Ewan Webster, CEO of Thesis, in a statement.

Pure Gold Mining Inc (TSX-V:PGM, LSE:PUR, OTC:LRTNF) has told investors that initiatives are underway at its PureGold mine in Red Lake, Ontario to boost daily ore production by a minimum of 50%. For the first half of 2022, the gold miner said it expects to mine and process ore at an average rate of between 600 to 700 tonnes per day, at an average head grade of 4.0-5.0 grams per ton (g/t) gold and average gold recovery of 95%. That should translate to expected gold production of between 15,000 to 20,000 ounces for the six-month period, the company said in a statement.

GGX Gold Corp has announced plans for the 2022 exploration program at its 100%-owned Gold Drop property in the Greenwood Mining Camp in British Columbia. The company said a surface drill program consisting of up to 2,000 meters (m) is being scheduled to commence in April on the property. Drilling is now being planned at the North Star mine and Gold Drop mine areas, Highland Valley vein, and Ken vein. For 2022, GGX is planning to drill an estimated 1,500m in the Gold Drop and North Star areas to intersect the Gold Drop vein near the workings and follow the structure to depth.
Midwest Energy Emissions Corp - ME2C Environmental - announced that it has exercised its right of first refusal (ROFR) for mercury emissions capture product supply with a significant coal-powered utility operating in the Midwest. The company said that this major utility entered into a license agreement with it in 2021 which provided the ROFR with respect to certain future supply business. ME2C said it is exercising the ROFR and matching the terms of an offer made by another supplier for a direct three-year supply order and a renewal option, which is expected to have a value of about US$1 million annually.

Soma Gold Corp said the TSX Venture Exchange has accepted for filing an option agreement dated February 4, 2022, between the company, Angra Metals Mineracao Ltda. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company), Cottagon S.A. (owned by Christopher M. Scheitz), Franz Josef Scheitz, Darci Henrique Lindenmayer. Cottagon, Scheitz and Lindenmayer are collectively referred to as the former owners. Under the option agreement, the former owners grant the company an option to buy back the former owners' 1% net smelter return (NSR) royalty from the mining rights held by the former owners of mining rights known as the Tucuma properties, located in the Carajas province in the state of Para, Brazil, and to extinguish the former owners' right to a US$3 million payment (preproduction payment) due upon commencement of commercial production on the mining rights. In consideration for the buyback option, the company will issue the former owners 250,000 common shares (187,500 shares to Cottagon, 50,000 shares to Scheitz and 12,500 shares to Lindenmayer) within 30 days from the date of execution of the option agreement and an additional 250,000 common shares (187,500 shares to Cottagon, 50,000 shares to Scheitz and 12,500 shares to Lindenmayer) within three years from the date of execution of the option agreement. The preproduction payment will remain in force until the company fully exercises the buyback option within three years from the date of execution of the option agreement.
