Lloyds Bank, AstraZeneca and Unilever are apparently three of the ways you can become an ISA millionaire, according to the latest study of the portfolios of its customers by Hargreaves Lansdown.
The number of ISA millionaires on its books has jumped by two-thirds to 973, while overall there are now 2,000 in the £1mln club said the wealth platform.
Most are aged in the seventies but some are in their twenties said Hargreaves Lansdown, which given that the annual allowance is £20,000 suggests some of the investments are a bit racier than Legal & General or GlaxoSmithKline, both of which are also in the top ten holdings list.
Two-thirds are also men with the favourite investment pattern seemingly to pile in during the first months of the new tax year.
Sarah Coles, Hargreaves Lansdown's senior personal finance analyst: added: "ISA investors don’t take enormous risks. More of them hold collective investments than single shares.
“Their focus is to consistently invest as much as possible of their annual allowance, as early as possible in the tax year, in a diverse and balanced portfolio.
“And they’ve done this every year for decades.”
Among the seventy year-olds, blue-chip companies, including those that traditionally pay strong dividends, are widely held while the funds are a mix of the most popular.
