David Beckham to launch his own NFTs

Beckham is considered a global superstar, with more than 138 million followers across various social media platforms

David Beckham is the latest in a string of A-list celebrities to enter the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) after he was named as the global brand ambassador for DigitalBits blockchain.

DigitalBits is an open-source blockchain that is used to power digital assets such as NFTs, tokens and stablecoins.

As part of the agreement, Beckham will launch a series of NFTs and blockchain assets that will be exclusively minted on DigitalBits.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star will “communicate the transformative power of DigitialBits blockchain to consumers, brands, and other organisations worldwide,” according to a statement.

The partnership will “drive innovation and sustainability in the sector and cultivate new ways for Beckham to connect with his fans across the world”.

DigitalBits hopes Beckham will utilise his experience and relationships with global brands such as Adidas, Maserati, Diaego and EA.

Beckham is considered a global superstar, with more than 138 million followers across various social media platforms and nine billion annual impressions, as well as being the most followed and engaged individual on social media in the UK.

“I knew that this was a major opportunity to create new experiences for my fans online. I have always taken pride in working with the best teams and I am so excited to work on my NFT collections and more innovations in the future,” said Beckham.

Other celebrities to have launched their own NFTs included socialite Paris Hilton and rapper Eminem.
