Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) will commence its first stage of exploration next week at the Central Sandstone Gold Project with a vehicle-mounted auger drill program.
The work will target five known areas of anomalism and 36 areas of interest.
Mobilisation is planned for the week commencing March 28. All required approvals are in place and an auger rig has been secured.
Program details
The program is designed to build on five targets, generated through work that was completed by previous owners Middle Island Resources.
36 additional areas of interest have been identified by Aurumin geologists, and 849 auger holes have been planned to test the bedrock for geochemical sampling.
In addition to gold sampling, the program will build a comprehensive multi-element geochemical data set across the tenement package to help refine geological mapping, potential identification of geochemical signatures and improved vectoring towards mineralisation.
Aurumin’s Managing Director Brad Valiukas said the program is an important step to maximise targets early on the mining tenements.
“There are already some good anomalies that we will infill, and, importantly, we are looking for new anomalies. We hope that this work will lead to new discoveries such as the Ridge, McClaren and McIntyre discoveries in 2020.
"Additionally, Aurumin is in the process of finalising planning and permitting surrounding a reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programme for the Shillington – Two Mile Complex where we are looking to better define the underground potential.”
