NickelSearch shares rise after identifying multiple high-priority targets at Carlingup Nickel Project

NickelSearch will follow up the priority targets with mapping, soil sampling and possible ground EM geophysics to further refine them prior to drilling.

NickelSearch Ltd (ASX:NIS) has identified multiple high-priority targets from preliminary analysis of the high-resolution helicopter-borne time domain electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic (Xcite™) survey at the Carlingup Nickel Project in Western Australia.

13 EM targets have been identified along the Carlingup Trend that hosts four nickel sulphide deposits (RAV-1, RAV-4, RAV-4 West and RAV-8), and a further 16 EM targets have been generated along the underexplored Ravensthorpe Range Trend.

From the total 29 targets identified, 15 of the targets have been classified as Priority 1 targets due to their coincident geochemical anomalism and geological setting.

NickelSearch managing director Nicole Duncan said: "We are very pleased to announce an exciting new pipeline of targets arising from analysis of the airborne EM and magnetic survey conducted over the entire Carlingup Project area.

“NickelSearch is committed to greenfield exploration and is utilising airborne EM and ultrafine soil geochemistry to screen the entire Carlingup land package for the first time.

“Identification of these new targets supports the company’s exploration strategy.”

Next steps

Soil geochemistry has identified nickel fertility at Sexton associated with a Priority 1 EM target and this has now become a high priority greenfields target.

The anomalies coincide with known deposits and high priority prospects, confirming EM is a valid method for identifying additional nickel sulphide discoveries.

Notably, the EM anomalies show a district-scale association with specific ultramafic units and linear magnetic features along the Carlingup and Ravensthorpe Range Trends.
