ACME Lithium Inc said it has acquired, by staking, 340 placer mining claims that will be known as the WS Project, which encompasses about 6727 acres in southeast Oregon near the Nevada border.
The company said the WS Project claims are situated regionally in a "nested" cluster of calderas northwest of Lithium Americas' Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada and near the Oregon JRL project owned by ASX-listed Jindalee Resources.
ACME noted that two springs on private land just off the WS Project claim block, sampled in the late 1970s by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), returned geochemically anomalous lithium values.

The company added that it is planning an initial geophysical and sampling program based on mapping and geology, which is expected to lead to a future drill program.
ACME said the WS Project is another addition to its growing lithium portfolio of two projects in Nevada and two in Manitoba.

The company has acquired, or is under option to acquire, a 100% interest in projects located in Clayton Valley and Fish Lake Valley, Esmeralda County Nevada, and in southeastern Manitoba.
