Talon Metals reveals more high-grade nickel and copper intercepts from outside Tamarack resource area in Minnesota

Drilling outside the pool of massive sulphides within the CGO West area intersected thick, high-grade nickel-copper mineralization, indicating that the high-grade mineralization expands to the east and to the north

Talon Metals Corp. (TSX:TLO) has revealed new assay results from drilling outside the main resource area at its flagship Tamarack nickel project, showing several high-grade nickel-copper intercepts.

Drilling outside the pool of massive sulphides within the CGO West area intersected thick, high-grade nickel-copper mineralization, which Talon said indicated that the high-grade mineralization expands to the east, while additional holes drilled suggested that mineralization expands to the north as well.

Notable intercepts included 15.09 meters grading 4.88% nickel and 1.68% copper and 13.19 meters grading 5.41% nickel and 2.29% copper.

Located in Minnesota, the Tamarack project comprises a large land position of over 18 kilometers of strike length, with numerous high-grade intercepts outside the current resource area. Talon is in a joint venture with Rio Tinto on the project.

Earlier in the year, Talon announced a landmark six-year deal with Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) to supply the electric vehicle manufacturer with nickel concentrate from the project.

"Given Talon's recent off-take announcement with Tesla, we are continuing to progress drilling rapidly at the Tamarack nickel project, with the goal of completing the necessary feasibility studies," said Brian Goldner, chief exploration and operating officer for Talon.

"Today's announcement further confirms the high-grade nature of our deposit and that the project continues to expand as we drill."

Talon has an earn-in right to acquire up to 60% of Tamarack, and currently owns 51%.
