Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has furthered its understanding of the Mt Flora Project’s primary gold mineralisation, outlining a system beneath previous aircore drilling with results from a new round of deeper reverse circulation (RC) drilling.
Assays from the 17 RC holes drilled at the main Mt Flora zone include:
- 2 metres at 9.67 g/t gold from 78 metres and 2 metres at 4.34 g/t from 97 metres;
- 2 metres at 4.06 g/t from 31 metres;
- 1-metre at 7.58 g/t from 63 metres;
- 18 metres at 1.57 g/t from 119 metres, including 4 metres at 2.23 g/t from 119 metres and 2 metres at 5.65 g/t from 135 metres; and
- 22 metres at 0.86 g/t from 102 metres including 3 metres at 2.40 g/t from 102 metres and 2 metres at 2.35 g/t from 122 metres.
From the Northern Target, highlight results include:
- 6 metres at 2.00 g/t gold from 45 metres; and
- 1-metre at 25.5 g/t from 86 metres
Kin says data from these RC drill holes has given it a better understanding of the controlling structures of gold mineralisation at Mt Flora, which is associated with quartz-scheelite veining, sulphide mineralisation and biotite-silica alteration.
Data supports presence of multiple lodes
“We’re building an increasingly detailed understanding of the mineralisation at Mt Flora, with this initial program of RC drilling confirming the presence of widespread deeper, primary gold mineralisation below the aircore drilling as well as enhancing our broader geological model,” Kin Mining managing director Andrew Munckton said.
“These latest results support our view that the Mt Flora Eastern Zone and the Northern Zone contains several mineralised lodes, highlighting the potential of the Mt Flora prospect to emerge as an important new primary gold discovery 20 kilometres east of the main Cardinia Gold Project.”
Kin Mining has interpreted Mt Flora to consist of several east-dipping, north-striking lodes extending off the main regional northeast striking Federation Fault.
“We plan to return to Mt Flora with further infill RC drilling aimed at delineating a maiden mineral resource estimate, with the timing of this next phase of drilling to be determined by our other exploration priorities at Cardinia including ongoing drilling at areas such as Pegasus and Rangoon,” Munckton concluded.
About Kin Mining
Kin Mining is a gold development and exploration company, whose key focus is the 100%-owned Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) in the highly prospective North-Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.
The CGP has a 1,275,000-ounce gold mineral resource defined in oxide and deeper primary mineralisation with considerable potential to grow this resource with further drilling.
The company also seeks to enhance its mineral inventory through regional consolidation opportunities in the Leonora region as a part of its long-term strategy to become a high margin Australian gold producer.
