Former British Airways (BA) executive was forced to stand down from the UK’s aviation regulator following a “potential conflict of interest.”
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said its non-executive Gary Copeland resigned from its board following seven months in the job.
“It is with regret that we have not been able to resolve a potential conflict of interest to our mutual satisfaction,” the CAA said.
Copeland, the ex-BA engineering director, was appointed to a “vital role” to help the authority meet its strategic safety objectives.
“He brought a wide array of skills and experience, having worked in numerous positions across the aviation and aerospace sector,” the CAA added.
