Spectrum X Holdings UK Ltd, the healthcare and pharmaceutical company tapping the potential of hypochlorous acid, has made two key appointments ahead of its planned IPO in late spring.
Barry Saint is joining the business as chief financial officer, while Debra Leeves has been recruited as an independent director. Both have impressive CVs.
Saint has 25 years' experience in finance and investment banking.
Most recently, he was CFO of early-stage biotechnology company Camallergy and before that was director of corporate finance and treasurer of FTSE 250 drugs group Indivior.
Leeves, meanwhile, brings with her a quarter of a century track record in business and clinical roles.
These have included senior-level positions in both start-ups and large multinationals, such as Pfizer, GSK and GE Healthcare.
Currently, she is chief executive of Vertual, a supplier of virtual reality training systems in radiation therapy.
Leeves also chairs Atelerix and the Institute of Directors (East Yorkshire) and is a non-exec at AIM-listed Cambridge Cognition.
SpectrumX chief executive Damien Hancox said of the appointments: “Barry and Debra bring a wealth of financial, capital markets, corporate and industry experience that will be invaluable as we prepare for our upcoming IPO and progress the commercialisation of our solutions.”
The company recently has fired the starting pistol on a £50mln listing by filing a prospectus with the London Stock Exchange.
Sources suggest that a £10mln pre-IPO round is largely complete, with the group looking to bring in circa £5mln at the time of the company’s stock market debut.
SpectrumX will use the proceeds to commercially develop the potential of its patentable version of hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which has shown early signs of efficacy in COVID-19 and its mutations as well as other viruses.
