Shield Therapeutics PLC (AIM:STX, OTCQX:SHIEF) said partner KYE Pharmaceuticals Inc has made a new drug submission to the authorities in Canada for Accrufer, the former’s iron deficiency drug.
If approved, the product would be the only oral iron therapy approved by Health Canada. Marketing sign-off is expected in the first half of next year.
Under the terms of the deal with KYE, Shield can earn £850,000 worth of milestone payments, including £250,000 for the regulatory green light. It will also receive double-digit royalties on net sales.
