Oar Resources Ltd has begun drilling, surface sampling and planning geophysical survey programs across its portfolio of projects, simultaneously exploring the Douglas Canyon Gold Project in Nevada, US, and the Crown Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project in the Julimar District of Western Australia.
The management team also intends to visit the company’s Eyre Peninsula project portfolio in South Australia, specifically to assess the existing mineral resource at the Oakdale Graphite Project and review a scoping study to reassess treatment options and mining scenarios for the project.
Douglas Canyon Gold Project
OAR has recommenced drilling at Douglas Canyon, targeting a depth extension of outcropping high-grade gold and silver mineralisation that included results of 18 g/t gold and 298 parts per million (ppm) silver.
Initial indications from the first hole (DCD-02) showed elevated gold levels, indicating a potential plunge of the system or cross-cutting structures likely responsible for the mineralisation found at surface.
The project tenure has also been extended, via the strategic addition of 2.5 kilometres of new ground to the west of the existing project area. The new ground covers a continuation of important geological structures within the Douglas Canyon Gold Project area.
Crown Nickel-Copper-PGE Project
OAR is progressing further landholder access agreements for the prospective north-eastern area of the Crown project, which will allow the company to conduct detailed systemic mapping and soil chemistry.
Soil and rock chip sampling programs are ongoing over the rest of the tenure, with about 200 samples submitted for analysis, although results are still pending.
The company is preparing to undertake an airborne geophysical survey over the priority eastern portion of the project area, which is the focus of the exploration activities at Crown.
The eastern region of the project is interpreted as a mix of targeted mafic, ultramafic, and granitic lithologies and is considered more prospective than the western area of the tenure.
Oakdale Graphite Project
OAR is reviewing several investment and divestment opportunities for its portfolio of exploration assets on the Eyre Peninsula, which consist of six contiguous exploration licences covering about 1,520 square kilometres of the Gawler Craton on the western flank of the Eyre Peninsula.
The management team will assess an existing resource estimate and scoping study for the Oakdale Graphite Project, where drilling has defined a JORC resource of 6.22 million tonnes at 4.8% Total Graphite Content (TGC).
The company intends to investigate the potential of growing the resource base at Oakdale and assess potential ore processing opportunities.
