Bushveld Minerals chair stands down in boardroom reshuffle

Three new non-executives are joining the vanadium miner

Bushveld Minerals Ltd (AIM:BMN, OTC:BSHVF) has announced chairman Ian Watson is to stand down with two other long-standing directors, Jeremy Friedlander and Anthony Viljoen, also to retire.

Watson will not stand for re-election at the forthcoming AGM with Michael Kirkwood, the company's senior independent NED to be interim chair until a replacement is appointed.

The vanadium miner announced three new non-executives are joining to replace the retirees.

They are Kevin Alcock, the former chief executive of Morse PLC, Mirco Bardella, an accountant with E&Y’s mining arm for 25 years and Jacqueline Musiitwa, a lawyer with a long career as counsel for mining companies.

Watson said: "It is with great pleasure that I welcome the new directors announced today. I have no doubt, these new appointments will help us maintain the strong combination of skills, experience and knowledge that we have always had, not only at board level, but throughout the company."

Following the changes, Bushveld’s board will comprise two executive directors (Fortune Mojapelo, chief executive officer and Tanya Chikanza, finance director), an acting non-executive chairperson, and four independent non-executive directors.
