Guild Esports sitting pretty after sponsorship deal with Razer

Razer has made the cut and been unveiled as Guild’s official gaming chair partner. "We've literally got Guild's back," quipped Flo Gutierrez, the global esports director at Razer

Guild Esports PLC (LSE:GILD, OTC:GULDF) has signed a two-year global sponsorship deal with Razer, the gaming-focused computer gear company.

Razer has made the cut and been unveiled as Guild’s official gaming chair partner.

The value of the contract is confidential but Guild said 80% of the value will be paid in cash with the rest payable in kind.

The deal grants Razer marketing rights and exposure across Guild's facilities including its planned 9,831 sq ft headquarters, as well as the company's social and digital content featuring its professional players and content creators.

Razer is behind one of the world's largest gamer-focused ecosystems of hardware, software and services and created the widely-followed global tournament series, Razer Invitational, making it a strong partner for Guild.

"This is the fifth brand to sign with Guild, and this demonstrates the quality of partners we continue to attract because of our fan-focussed strategy, team performances and relationship with a fast-growing, young, and passionate audience," said Kal Hourd, the chief executive of Guild.

Flo Gutierrez, the global esports director at Razer, said with its ergonomic chairs, “we've literally got Guild's back in achieving greater success, as well as further strengthening our brand among Guild's growing international fanbase".

Shares in Guild Esports were up 2.4% at 2.1p in early deals.
