UK Oil & Gas PLC (AIM:UKOG) (UK Oil & Gas PLC (AIM:UKOG)) (UKOG) should get a decision on or before June 7, 2022, on its appeal against Surrey County Council's planning rejection for the Loxley project.
The final appeal determination will be made by the government’s Levelling Up department utilising the Planning Inspector's report and recommendation.
UKOG wants to use Loxley gas as a feedstock for reforming into hydrogen if the necessary permissions are granted.
Stephen Sanderson, UKOG's chief executive, said that supporting domestic gas makes economic, strategic, and environmental sense.
"Recent tragic events in Ukraine have rightly focused attention on the security of UK gas supply and the price volatility that can result from an increasing dependence on imported gas.
“We believe new UK domestic gas, from sites such as Loxley, could help increase security of supply and help mitigate against such price volatility," he said.
