Krakatoa Resources Ltd (ASX:KTA) has mobilised personnel to start a detailed moving loop electromagnetic survey (MLEM) over multiple discrete late time VTEM targets at its Mt Clere project at the north-western margins of the Yilgarn Craton, WA.
The outcome will confirm the VTEM conductors’ exact locations, strength, and orientations, with priority generated targets to be drill tested in the June Quarter.
KAT reported in January that it had successfully completed an extensive VTEM survey defining 52 VTEM conductors of which 20 are strong, high-priority targets.

The recent nickel-copper-platinum group element Julimar discovery, located near Perth in the similarly aged Southwest Terrane of the Yilgarn Craton, was initially identified as an EM feature analogous to those in the below image.

The MLEM survey will start with the Calvin, Bullbadger, North Bullbadger, Dingo and Milly Milly clusters, where 2021 stream geochemical results showed elevated nickel, chromium and copper levels. These are part of the Narryer terrane where KTA holds a dominant land holding.
Work program to finish before Easter
“To be able to get on the ground so quickly following the completion of the VTEM targeting survey will allow us to complete this critical work program before Easter and plan for drilling in late May,” Krakatoa CEO Mark Major said.
“The MLEM survey is the next important step for refining the nickel-copper sulphide targets. We have identified over 20 high conductive, discrete late-time conductors along associated craton margin structural corridors.
“So, we have the right rocks with the right structural setting. Elevated base metals within the streams from these cluster catchment areas further support prospectivity. This area is an emerging region and one which is attracting a lot of attention now. Multiple extensive targets have the potential to host significant massive sulphide mineralisation.
"We could be on the cusp of something significant for our shareholders. Once the data is interpreted, we look forward to updating shareholders of our drill targets.”
