SSE in a 'sweet spot' according to US bank Citi

“SSE is well-positioned to benefit from any long-term acceleration of energy transition"

Renewable power generator SSE PLC (LSE:SSE) is a sweet spot according to the analysts at US broker Citi, which have upgraded to buy with a price target of 1,829p.

“SSE is well-positioned to benefit from any long-term acceleration of energy transition, with its portfolio of renewable and network assets, as well as the near-term protection they provide from a higher-for-longer inflationary environment,” said the broker.

Backed by a "credible financing strategy, visible dividend, and potentially meaningful earnings upgrades to come, we see SSE as in a sweet spot to benefit.”

Citi’s rating previously was 'neutral'.

Shares today were up 2.8% at 1,653p.
