Seismic Capital Company CEO Steven Weinstein joined Proactive to discuss the SEC's plan to reconsider what type of investor is an 'accredited investor' and eligible to invest in startups’ privately-held share offerings. Weinstein, who runs the venture fund, says the proposed limit at $10 million would make it even harder for retail investors to invest in startups. Seismic 'does not see this as being very democratic' for those interested in venture capital who are not a part of the traditional institutions, pension funds, and college endowments.
