Bitcoin and Ethereum both retreated, losing some of the gains made earlier in the week as bodies such as the UK's Treasury and the UK's Financial Conduct Authority call on crypto companies to be tougher in implementing their sanctions. Bitcoin fell 5% down to $41,000 while Ethereum fell over 6% to 2,700.
The Ukrainian government announced it will issue NFTs to fund its armed forces. Vice-prime minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed in a tweet on Thursday that the government would soon be using NFTs to help pay for its military. Fedorov did not provide further details on the NFTs but did add the government had cancelled plans to reward crypto donors with an ‘airdrop’.
