Oncimmune Holdings PLC (AIM:ONC) said its ImmunoINSIGHTS operation has inked another deal – this time with an unnamed top ten pharmaceutical company.
The work undertaken will initially focus on autoantibody profiling of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy.
This is a rare autoimmune disorder where the body attacks the myelin sheaths. These are the fatty coverings on the fibres that insulate and protect the nerves.
The ImmunoINSIGHTS team will use its biomarker discovery platform SeroTag to identify autoantibodies related to CIDP.
“This contract will make full use of the unique attributes of our SeroTag platform, and the competencies amongst our scientific colleagues, who are world leaders in autoimmune profiling,” said chief executive Adam Hill.
"As is typical with SeroTag contracts, there is potential for the initial discovery work in autoantibodies to progress to further research and support for therapeutic development, creating and refining CIPD-specific NavigAID panels using additional data and markers to guide drug development and inform patient and disease stratification."
Earlier this week Oncimmune announced tie-ups with Synexa Life Sciences and Verily Life Sciences, owned by Google’s parent Alphabet.
