2. Aviva to return a further £3.75bn in B share scheme
The insurance giant proposed a proposed return of capital of £3.75bn to shareholders by way of a B share scheme. This is in addition to the £1bn share buy-back which is already underway.
3. Royal Mail hit by downgrade over issues with union
Liberum notes that the CWU, which speaks for the majority of Royal Mail’s staff, has submitted a pay claim that the broker estimates will be around 7.8% if it is to match inflation.
4. Footsie finds some support
The FTSE 100 index closed 99.36 points, or 1.36% higher on Wednesday at 7,429.56 but volatility is expected to remain a feature for markets as the war in Ukraine continues.

The biotech firm announced solid half yearly results supported with strong revenue - with increased sales revenue, primarily underpinned by solid demand for ArtemiC.
