Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) said its suspended its operations in Russia until further notice due to the country’s continued invasion of Ukraine.
The car giant said late Tuesday it had informed its Russian joint venture partner, Sollers Avto PAO, of its decision, while adding it had few operations in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The automobile design and manufacturing company will also donate US$100,000 to the Global Giving Ukraine Relief Fund to aid affected Ukrainian citizens.
Ford joined the likes of other giant companies BP PLC (LSE:BP.), Shell PLC (LSE:SHEL, NYSE:SHEL, EURONEXT:SHELL), Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), and British Gas’ owner Centrica PLC (LSE:CNA) in issuing sanctions on Russia this week.
