KR1 to invest in specialised funds to get in on ‘up and coming projects’

The company has recently invested US$5mln into a specialist NFT fund

KR1 PLC (AQSE:KR1), a digital asset investment company, is looking to invest in specialised funds as a way to join in on exciting and upcoming projects early.

Speaking to Proactive, George McDonaugh, the managing director and co-founder, said investing in funds with expertise in different areas of the cryptocurrency and blockchain world is the best way to get into “new and upcoming spaces.”

McDonaugh adds that the company can lean on “these experts in these spaces who've shown time after time they have a track record.”

“It allows us to some degree to piggyback on their expertise and having spent a long time at looking at the space, it was the right decision for us and they've got a fantastic portfolio,” McDonaugh added, referring to Starry Night Capital.

Starry Night Capital is an investment fund focusing on high-profile non-fungible tokens (NFTs), that KR1 has recently invested US$5mln into.

McDonaugh said the rationale behind this decision, and any future decisions concerning investments in specialists funds is to “provide shareholders access to these other areas that are booming.”
