Karora Resources hits high-grade nickel at its Beta Hunt mine in Western Australia

Exploration results from the 50C nickel trough included 3.8% nickel over 10.9 metres and 4.2% nickel over 3.0 metres

Karora Resources Inc. (TSX:KRR) has announced new nickel exploration results from the 50C nickel trough at its Beta Hunt mine in Western Australia, which included 3.8% nickel over 10.9 metres and 4.2% nickel over 3.0 metres.

The company said the new results have extended the known 50C nickel trough strike length to over 200 metres, from 150 metres previously, and includes drilling along strike of the 50C discovery and the parallel 10C nickel trough.

“The new drilling supports the extension of the 50C discovery to over 200 metres in strike length and up to 120 metres in width, all delivered in just 10 months since discovery,” Karora Resources CEO Paul Andre Huet said in a statement.

“A key feature of the Beta Hunt Mine is the extensive existing mining infrastructure. This provides us with the advantage of moving very rapidly from initial discovery to Mineral Resource definition and, ultimately, with the goal of mining,” Huet added.

Karora noted the drill results from the 10C nickel trough further support its objective to upgrade and extend the existing 10C nickel Mineral Resource, which forms part of the current Beta South Mineral Resource.

It added that its team is now working on a new nickel mineralization model for the Gamma Block that will utilize the new drill results from both 50C and 10C to enhance identification of drill-ready targets.

The company said it will use this model to support an updated nickel Mineral Resource incorporating the 50C discovery and 10C upgrade and extension during the second quarter of 2022.

Karora also reported that mine planning for the Gamma Block is underway with a view to bringing these new nickel areas into production as soon as practicable, with the goal of initial mining taking place in the first half of 2023.

Karora Resources is now a "top tier" junior gold producer in Western Australia, having started its transformation - when known as RNC Minerals - with its purchase in 2019 of the Higginsville Gold Operations (HGO).

The company is focused on growing gold production and reducing costs at the integrated Beta Hunt gold mine and the Higginsville mine and its associated treatment facility.

At Beta Hunt, a robust gold mineral resource and reserve is hosted in multiple gold shears, with gold intersections along a four-kilometer strike length remaining open in multiple directions.
