JLR halts shipments of Range Rovers to Russia

Ukraine crisis: JLR does not have any manufacturing facilities in Russia or Ukraine

Britain’s biggest maker of cars, JLR, has paused the delivery of vehicles to the Russian market.

The company, owned by Indian conglomerate Tata and best known for its Jaguar and Land Rover marques, sold 6,900 cars to Russia last year.

According to the BBC, the Coventry-headquartered company cited “trading challenges” for its decision.

A spokesperson for the company said its priority is for the well-being of its workforce, their families and “those within our extended network”.

"The current global context also presents us with trading challenges, so we are pausing the delivery of vehicles into the Russian market and continually monitoring the situation on behalf of our global customer base,” the spokesperson told the BBC.

The company has a manufacturing facility based in Slovakia.
