Pantoro Ltd (ASX:PNR) continues to demonstrate large zones of platinum group elements (PGE) and nickel mineralisation in results of a drilling program completed late last year on the prospective Lamboo deposit within the Halls Creek Project in Western Australia.
Notably, the company’s drilling had previously returned encouraging nickel assays from the Lamboo ultramafic basal contact, with new results also confirming PGE potential over at least 4.6 kilometres of strike including:
- 29 metres at 0.74 g/t platinum + palladium + gold (3E), 0.20% nickel and 0.013% cobalt from 60 metres;
- 22 metres at 0.74 g/t platinum + palladium + gold (3E), 0.25% nickel and 0.014% cobalt from 15 metres;
- 5 metres at 1.87 g/t platinum + palladium + gold (3E), 0.20% nickel and 0.012% cobalt from 153 metres; and
- 38 metres at 0.61 g/t platinum + palladium + gold (3E), 0.21% nickel and 0.012% cobalt from 59 metres.
Moving forward, Pantoro is preparing for a 20,000-metre drill program designed to step out and cover the remaining prospective Lamboo ultramafic basal contact and complete the delineation of the existing known PGE occurrences immediately after the current wet season.

Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec said: “These new results from what was an opportunistic campaign following initial results continue to demonstrate widespread mineralisation at Lamboo with consistency from surface to significant depths.
“The demonstrated extension three kilometres north of previous drilling is particularly encouraging.
“Our next phase of drilling will focus on broad coverage across the majority of the known system, as well as fully delineating areas already identified.
“With the number and quality of drill intersections already received we look forward to a big field season commencing very soon.”
Lamboo ultramafic basal contact
Pantoro’s drilling to date continues to successfully expand and define the PGE mineralisation on the prospective Lamboo ultramafic basal contact.
Mineralisation is proven to be consistent over large drill intervals commencing from the surface, with widths of up to 100 metres encountered to date.
Pantoro considers that there is strong potential for a large, bulk-tonnage PGE resource to be defined in the near term.
PGE and nickel
Pantoro has returned additional results 2.9 kilometres north of the West Limb basal contact mineralisation indicating multiple lodes within the basal contact zone.
Notably, nickel assays from previously reported drilling confirm wide zones of nickel coincident with PGE mineralisation.
Results from along and across strike, extend West Limb mineralisation to the south and further outline Southern Zone mineralisation, confirming the system remains open and support the broader potential over the remaining untested 20 kilometres basal contact target.
Furthermore, a review of historic Thundelarra reconnaissance drilling confirms the presence of PGE mineralisation a further 2 kilometres to the south, and in another fold limb to the east of Edison.
