Vango Mining intersects broad, high-grade gold zones at Marymia Gold Project in Western Australia

It has uncovered further high-grade, broad gold mineralisation zones at the Skyhawk open-pit, giving confidence the prospect could add material ounces to the Marymia Gold Project's mineral resource upgrade, due at the end of the second quar

Vango Mining Ltd (ASX:VAN) has completed the second phase of drilling at the Skyhawk open-pit in the Marymia Gold Project of Western Australia, intersecting wide bands of high-grade gold zones that confirm the potential for an open-pit approach to the resource.

The drilling at Skyhawk consisted of six reverse circulation holes for 1,014 metres, with notable gold returned in five holes. Highlight assay results include:

➢ 15 metres at 3.5 g/t gold from 113 metres, including 7 metres at 6.6 g/t from 119 metres; and

➢ 12 metres at 2.4 g/t from 110 metres, including 1 metre at 7.6 g/t from 118 metres.

These results are from the same area of Skyhawk that returned a result of 16 metres at 4.4 g/t gold, from 54 metres, which included a section of 6 metres at 8.2 g/t.

Skyhawk’s open-pit potential

These new broad gold intersections add to a growing body of high-grade gold returns from Skyhawk, with historical results including:

➢ 18 metres at 2.0 g/t gold, from 76 metres, including 1 metre at 8.5 g/t;

➢ 16 metres at 3.5 g/t from 132 metres;

➢ 12 metres at 2.5 g/t from 65 metres;

➢ 18 metres at 2.0 g/t from 76 metres;

➢ 7 metres at 4.6 g/t from 67 metres; and,

➢ 5 metres at 6.4 g/t from 84 metres.

Collectively Vango believes these results confirm the potential for an open-pit resource at Skyhawk to add materially to the existing 1-million-ounce resource already held at the Marymia project.

In light of this, the company has commissioned Dr Spero Carras to compile a resource upgrade, expected at the end of the second quarter this year.

About Vango Mining

Vango Mining is an exploration company with the aim of becoming a high-grade gold miner through developing the 100%-owned Marymia Gold Project in WA's Mid-West.

The Marymia Project comprises 45 granted mining leases spread over a 300 square kilometres area and has an established high-grade resource of 1 million ounces at 3 g/t gold, underpinned by Trident with 410,000 ounces at 8 g/t.

Besides Marymia, Vango is also testing several much larger-scale targets, looking for repeats of Plutonic-style mineralisation.
