The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned that 5G signals could interfere with the landing of some Boeing Co (NYSE:BA)’s 737 airplanes.
The FAA issued an Airworthiness Directive revising the landing requirements for certain Boeing 737 planes at airports where 5G interference could occur.
Many systems on Boeing 737 aircraft rely on the radio altimeter, including auto throttle, ground proximity warning, thrust reversers and traffic collision avoidance system.
The directive affects about 2,442 airplanes in the US and 8,342 worldwide, the regulator said.
