Horizon Minerals sells nickel exploration rights at Berehaven Project to Metal Hawk

“We are confident there will be more nickel discoveries at Berehaven and we have now exercised the nickel rights option with Horizon,” says Metal Hawk MD.

Horizon Minerals Ltd (ASX:HRZ)'s Berehaven joint venture project, 20 kilometres southeast of Kalgoorlie in the West Australian goldfields, looks to be highly prospective for nickel.

Metal Hawk Ltd (ASX:MHK) has conducted electromagnetic surveying across the tenement and, upon finding strong bedrock conductors, has decided to exercise its option to acquire the nickel rights over the project.

That company continues to advance nickel exploration at the project with infill and extensional Moving Loop Ground Electromagnetic (MLEM) surveying at the newly identified targets.

Bedrock conductors

Several strong bedrock conductors have been modelled from the MLEM survey data at a number of locations along the interpreted north-to-northwest-trending ultramafic rocks.

Metal Hawk managing director Will Belbin said: “In conjunction with the extensive and systematic aircore drilling we have undertaken, the new EM results have continued to develop a number of outstanding nickel sulphide targets.

“We are confident there will be more nickel discoveries at Berehaven and we have now exercised the nickel rights option with Horizon. We look forward to bedrock-testing some of these priority EM conductors in coming weeks.”

Major regional aircore program

Since the start of a major regional aircore program late last year, Metal Hawk has completed 167 holes for more than 11,000 metres of drilling at Berehaven.

The first batch of assays from aircore drilling is expected imminently and plans are underway to kick off the next phase of aircore drilling once surveying is complete.

Once assays are received from the aircore program, the geochemical data will be read in conjunction with survey results, and Metal Hawk will design and prioritise reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programs to progress its nickel ambitions in the area.
