Burcon Nurtrascience CEO Johann Tergesen joined Steve Darling from Proactive to talk about the company that is in the development of plant-based proteins for foods and beverages. Burcon has an extensive patent portfolio covering its plant-based proteins derived from pea, canola, soy, hemp, sunflower seed, among other plant sources.
Tergesen shared more about the company with Proactive and also about their latest financial numbers showing a a 41% quarter-over-quarter increase in royalty revenues from Merit Functional Foods and its completing the commissioning of its first of a kind pea protein and canola protein production facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Tergesen also told Proactive more his future as well as he look to transition to a new role.
