Rumble Resources delivers more high-grade zinc-lead drilling results from Chinook prospect at the Earaheedy Project in Western Australia

Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR) has confirmed strong grade continuity at the Chinook zinc-lead-silver-copper prospect of the Earaheedy Project in Western Australia, returning more high-grade zinc-lead results from scoping and infill drilling.

Assays from over 40% of the 50,000 metres drilled in 2021 remain outstanding, including three holes that have been interpreted to intercept the newly discovered Kalitan Feeder Zone within the Chinook prospect.

The Kalitan Feeder Zone strikes northwest along the northeast margin of the Chinook prospect.

Drill hole EHRC360 returned high-grade sulphide zinc-lead mineralisation within a broad intersection of 112 metres at 1.51% zinc and lead from 104 metres to 216 metres (end of hole) which also included:

  • 13 metres at 6.94% zinc and lead (6.27% zinc, 0.67% lead), 3.00 g/t silver from 137 metres; and,
  • 6 metres at 10.51% zinc and lead, 2.37 g/t silver from 141 metres, ending in strong mineralisation of 4.58% zinc and lead (215 -216 metres end of hole).

This drill hole is situated:

  • 300 metres northwest along strike of drill hole EHRC370 which returned an intersection of 20 metres at 8.78% zinc and lead, including 8 metres at 14.61% zinc and lead, from within a broader zone of 51 metres at 4.76% zinc and lead; and,
  • 540 metres to the southeast of drill hole EHRC136 which returned 10 metres at 6.57% zinc and lead, within a broader zone of 37 metres at 3.25% zinc and lead, 7.18 g/t silver, which also included a zone of copper mineralisation with 4 metres at 1.54% copper, 6.1% zinc and lead.

Large, shallow mineralised footprint

“Following the Chinook zinc-lead-silver-copper sulphide discovery in April 2021, broad spaced 500-metre by 100-metre scoping drilling defined a very large shallow flat lying 4.1-kilometre x 1.9-kilometre mineralised footprint that remains open in all directions,” Rumble Resources managing director Shane Sikora said.

Rumble says multiple high-grade zinc and lead intersections over 2% have highlighted the strong continuity of the zinc-lead mineralisation of this footprint, which remains open in all directions. Notable intersections include:

  • 17 metres at 4.88% zinc and lead, 3.33 g/t silver from 72 metres, including 9 metres at 6.22% zinc and lead (5.55% zinc, 0.67% lead) from 75 metres;
  • 17 metres at 4.18% zinc and lead, 5.12 g/t silver from 110 metres;
  • 7 metres at 4.04% zinc and lead, 6.17 g/t silver from 141 metres;
  • 17 metres at 3.71% zinc and lead, 4.21 g/t silver from 122 metres;
  • 17 metres at 3.59% zinc and lead, 2.06 g/t silver from 68 metres;
  • 20 metres at 3.63% zinc and lead, 2.82 g/t silver from 63 metres; and,
  • 29 metres at 2.48% zinc and lead, 3.58 g/t silver from 122 metres.

Kalitan Feeder Zone

“Later in 2021, Rumble commenced infill drilling on a 200-metre by 100-metre grid, with the impressive first assay results received from this program showcasing the potential to define a very large-scale open pit deposit with strong grade continuity and multiple large high-grade zinc-lead core zones, as shown by our grade contouring in images 2 and 4,” Sikora continued.

“Drill hole and geophysical analysis provided the exploration team with the essential technical understanding to discover the high grade Kalitan Feeder Zone at Chinook in December 2021.

“The 2022 Reverse Circulation (RC)/Diamond drill (DD) drilling program will be the first to specifically define the open, 2.3-kilometre-long Kalitan Feeder Zone, which continues to deliver high-grade zinc-lead intercepts, and target other inferred high-grade zinc-lead zones within feeder structures that are already delineated within and outside the existing Chinook mineralised footprint.”

The Sweetwater Trend

“Another recent exciting development is the interpretation of the airborne magnetics has shown the structural features that host the Chinook mineralisation including a multitude of inferred high-grade feeders and domal features, extend west of the current limit of the Chinook mineralisation into the 100% owned newly granted E69/3787, host to 15 kilometres of strike named the Sweetwater trend – see images 4 & 6,” Sikora said.

“Rumble is in advanced stages of completing heritage surveys along the Sweetwater trend and once completed, drilling is planned to rapidly extend and define the limits of the Chinook zinc-lead-silver-copper deposit and target further large-scale discoveries.”

Given that the Sweetwater Trend structures parallel the trend of the Kalitan Feeder zone, Rumble believes it potentially represents an additional feeder zone with higher-grade sulphide zinc-lead mineralisation.

2022 Exploration program

E69/3464 (RTR (75%) / ZNC (25%) JV) Chinook Prospect

The immediate focus for the current drilling campaign includes:

  • RC infill and extension drilling to further delineate the shallow high-grade zinc-lead mineralisation in the Navajoh Unconformity Unit within the Kalitan Feeder Zone;
  • diamond core drilling to test the feeder structures in the underlying Purple Shale and Iroquois Formations targeting new copper-zinc-lead-silver discoveries;
  • further drilling to test interpreted feeder structures adjacent to the Kalitan Feeder Zone; and
  • ongoing scoping (RC drilling) of the Tonka-Magazine-Navajoh Trend

Sweetwater Tenements (E69/3787 and E69/3862 RTR 100%)

  • Rumble is in advanced stages with TMPAC to complete heritage surveys to clear the upcoming planned exploration programs;
  • once the heritage surveys are completed, the focus of drilling will be to rapidly extend and define the limits of Chinook’s large-scale zinc-lead-silver-copper mineralised footprint and test further to the west; and
  • a large surface geochemical survey is planned along the entire 15 kilometres of the Sweetwater Trend which in combination with the airborne magnetic data should delineate additional new first order drill targets.
