OzAurum Resources delivers significant gold hits including 73 metres at 1.3g/t at Mulgabbie North

“These results, coupled with the wide zone of AC gold mineralisation that we recently intercepted at the Alicia Prospect, demonstrate that Mulgabbie North is shaping up to be a significant gold discovery situated right alongside Northern St

OzAurum Resources Ltd (ASX:OZM) has intersected significant wide zones of gold mineralisation from its large-scale reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its Mulgabbie North Project, situated northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The company has received assays from 48 holes totalling 7,912 metres with strong results including:

  • 73 metres at 1.30 g/t gold from 17 metres, including 1 metre at 0.35 g/t, 12 metres at 2.04g/t and 8 metres at 2g/t;
  • 7 metres at 5.26 g/t from 41 metres including 2 metres at 16.02 g/t; and
  • 36 metres at 1.37 g/t gold from 95 metres including 15 metres at 2.02 g/t.

Looking ahead, OzAurum is set to begin an additional 15,000 metres of drilling scheduled to kick off this week.

“Exciting development”

OzAurum CEO and managing director Andrew Pumphrey said: “The wide zones of gold mineralisation that were intersected in a number of RC holes is an exciting development at the James Prospect.

"In particular, the strike of the Mulgabbie North Project has now been extended to 1.3km.

“These results, coupled with the wide zone of AC gold mineralisation that we recently intercepted at the Alicia Prospect, demonstrate that Mulgabbie North is shaping up to be a significant gold discovery situated right alongside Northern Star’s Carosue Dam Mill.”

Drilling results

OzAurum’s drill program is aimed at testing extensions of the James Prospect, as well testing aircore gold anomalies at Mulgabbie North.

Significant gold mineralisation, over a wide zone, has been intersected in RC drill holes situated north of the James Prospect within the Mulgabbie North Project with other strong results including:

  • 15metres at 1.89 g/t gold from 56m metres including 1 metre at 9.29 g/t;
  • 46 metres at 0.70 g/t from 54 metres including 10 metres at 1.61 g/t;
  • 15 metres at 1.75 g/t from 156 metres including 1 metre at 9.59 g/t;
  • 10 metres 1.36 g/t from 10 metres including 1 metre at 6.38 g/t; and
  • 1 metre at 5.36 g/t from 31 metres and 1 metre at 5.09 g/t.

Notably, gold mineralisation is open along strike and at depth, with strike length confirmed by RC drilling at Mulgabbie North extended to 1.3 kilometres of primary gold mineralisation.

Mineralisation

Interestingly, intrusive porphyries have been intersected in several RC drill holes at Mulgabbie North along the Relief shear.

The relief shear continues to demonstrate strong potential to host significant gold mineralisation adjacent to the Carosue Dam Mill.

Notably, the vertical hole MNORC 171 intersects higher grade mineralisation.

Furthermore, MNORC 126 intersects high-grade primary gold mineralisation at depth below paleochannel gold mineralisation.

Forward plan

OzAurum has recently approved an additional 15,000 metres of combined diamond, RC and AC drilling to be completed in the first half of 2022.

Follow up RC drilling at Mulgabbie North and the Alicia Prospect will continue, along with ongoing RC drill testing of AC saprolite gold anomalies and extensions to the Ben and James Prospects.

RC drilling is planned to recommence in the coming weeks targeting the demagnetised zone between the Ben and Alicia Prospect.

Utilising best practice RC drilling, sampling and assay protocols will allow for a potential future JORC 2012 compliant resource to be estimated with confidence at Mulgabbie North.
