ClearVue Technologies Ltd (ASX:CPV, OTCQB:CVUEF) is gearing up for a big year as its global commercialisation strategy gathers steam with key international appointments including a new US CEO and the completion of its ClearZero design archetype.
The appointment of new US CEO Basil Karampelas, a 30-year veteran of the renewable finance sector, heralds the company’s planned expansion into North America, a key plank of its strategy to become a global player in the sustainability, renewable energy and carbon reduction space.
New US CEO
“With the appointment of Basil Karampelas to lead our efforts in North America, we have found an executive with that rare combination of deep operating experience in renewables, a track record of success raising money in the capital markets, and an extensive network of relationships that spans investment firms, government agencies, multinational energy companies, utilities and manufacturing companies,” executive chairman Victor Rosenberg said.
“We expect him to use these skills to allow us to not only introduce ClearVue products to the North American market, but to expand our investor base into this geography as well.”
ClearZero archetype
ClearVue has completed the design of a 15,000-square-metre archetype model building to demonstrate how its product can achieve a net-zero energy-use building.
The modelling was completed on a design in Toronto, Canada, benchmarked against the Toronto Green Standard (TGS) from 2030 – one of the world’s highest standards of building performance.
The archetype was shown to achieve the highest level of performance under the TGS from 2030 and an energy star score in the top 1% of Canadian office buildings for energy performance.
The company used a computer simulation and detailed thermal model to develop the archetype, which will support ClearVue to engage with the architecture and engineering industries on designing net-zero emissions buildings.
“Architects and façade engineers the world over are now coming up against ever harder code requirements for energy-efficient building design in response to the climate crisis,” Rosenberg said.
“The archetype will be used by ClearVue as a key sales tool and educational resource when dealing with these architects, engineers, as well as developers and builders.
“The ClearVue PV glazing through its energy efficiency and energy generation offers a solution for these architects, engineers and developers struggling with how to design buildings to meet these new codes while maintaining expansive views and maximising building daylighting.”
D2Solar agreement
ClearVue has signed a master services agreement with D2Solar of California for further development work on its second and third-generation technologies.
D2Solar, a leading specialist solar engineering firm based in Silicon Valley, California, will manufacture certain co-developed ClearVue components to secure a supply chain in North America.
