Gratomic Inc, the Namibia-focused exploration company, announced that it has decided to select JS Herero Primary School as the beneficiary of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program in Namibia for 2022.
The Toronto-based company has pledged 1 million Namibian dollars (C$82, 971) to help renovate the facility, purchase stationery supply and buy school uniforms for students, it said in a statement.
Renovations will include constructing another kitchen facility, sewage system upgrades, and improvements to the roof and structural system, as well as a host of other projects.

JS Herero is located within the Karas region in Namibia, around 12 kilometres from the C14 road to Bethanie. The school first opened in 1984 and has 225 students, nine teachers and a handful of support staff.
“A large aspect of Gratomic's Corporate Social Responsibility is giving back to the community, particularly through its commitment to education,” Gratomic said.
“Gratomic believes that this donation will have a positive impact on the education of students at the JS Herero Primary school in Southern Namibia. The company strongly believes in education and in giving back to the community by investing in the education of children and local economies.”
The junior resources firm is focused on becoming a leading global graphite supplier and aims to secure a strong position in the electric vehicle battery supply chain. Its Aukam graphite project is located in the Karas region and was a historical producer until 1956.
