Carnavale Resources Ltd (ASX:CAV) has begun a second round of aircore drilling for the Ora Banda South Gold Project, targeting extensions of gold mineralisation discovered during the initial drilling program.
The company aims to complete more than 11,000 metres of air core drilling, following up wide-spaced reconnaissance drilling which uncovered three broad zones of gold along the 15-kilometre-long Carnage Shear Zone, which remains open along strike and at depth.
Highlight assays from the first round of air core drilling include:
- 4 metres at 8.82g/t gold from 40 metres;
- 8 metres at 2.74g/t gold from 48 metres, including 4 metres at 5.1g/t gold from 52 metres;
- 12 metres at 0.44g/t gold from surface;
- 4 metres at 1.40g/t from 24 metres; and
- 4 metres at 0.76g/t from 56 metres.

“We are excited to be back at Ora Banda with the aircore rig this week. The results from the initial aircore program were outstanding and better than we expected,” Carnavale Resources CEO Humphrey Hale said.
“We are following up on broad high-grade gold mineralisation identified by the initial aircore drilling over many kilometres of strike.”
Carnavale is exploring for structurally controlled gold mineralisation under cover, with analogous geological settings to the over 2.5 million ounce at over 4g/t Invincible Gold Mine, discovered by Gold Fields Limited near Kambalda in 2012.
