Infield Minerals Corp has told investors it will soon outline this year's exploration plans as it reported drilling and sampling results from 2021 work at its M1 property in White Pine County, Nevada. Five reverse circulation (RC) holes were sunk at the M1 North Zone, for around 901 metres (m) at the project last year, while four rock grab samples were collected from the historical workings dumps at the Central Zone. In terms of the drilling, assays included 0.29 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 8.2 g/t silver over 7.6m in one hole, starting from a depth of 7.6m. In another hole 23.1 g/t silver and 0.61 g/t gold were intercepted in a length measuring 1.6m starting from 9.1m depth.
Altiplano Metals Inc (TSX-V:APN, OTC:ALTPF) said it has discovered a new vein system at the Maria Luisa project in Chile. In a statement, Edmonton-based Altiplano said a new, near-surface high-grade copper oxide vein system trending in a north-south orientation with mineable widths was intersected underground while the firm was advancing the Maria Luisa decline. Underground mapping tested with channel samples on the vein resulted in 2.50 metres of 1.44 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 4.65% copper, and 2.52 metres of 1.17 g/t gold and 0.93% copper.
Avalon GloboCare Corp (NASDAQ:AVCO) has said it is expanding its cellular immuno-oncology program with the addition of novel Chimeric Antigen Receptor-Natural Killer (CAR-NK) cell therapies. Natural killer (NK) cells constitute an important component of the immune system. NK cells seek out abnormal cells, including cancerous cells, and destroy them. However, Avalon noted that cancer cells are often capable of "masking" themselves to evade attack by NK cells. But by adding a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) to a patient's own or universal-donor NK cells, these engineered CAR-NK cells are designed to "unmask," recognize and destroy a patient's specific tumor surface targets.
Talon Metals Corp announced that the US Department of Energy (DoE) has awarded US$2.2 million in research and development (R&D) funding to explore the carbon storage potential at its Tamarack Nickel Project in central Minnesota. The company said joint venture partner Rio Tinto will lead a team of climate innovation and research leaders that will explore new approaches in carbon mineralization technology as a way to safely and permanently store carbon in solid rock form. Rio Tinto will contribute US$4 million in funding for the three-year project, in addition to the funding from the DoE's ARPA-e Innovation Challenge, Talon added. Talon, the majority owner and operator of the Tamarack Nickel Project, is contributing ore body knowledge and land access for scientific fieldwork.
Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) told investors it has received the results from the third hole of last year's diamond drilling program at the flagship Golden Promise asset in Newfoundland’s gold belt, which showed "multiple near-surface gold-bearing intervals". The hole was one of an eight-hole program at the Jaclyn Zone part of the property and was sunk in the west region of the Jaclyn Main Zone (JMZ) in an area of high-grade quartz veins. Three samples from the hole exceeded 5 grams per ton (g/t) gold. One sample showed an intercept of 0.40 meters (m) core length quartz vein sample from 47.6m depth, showing visible gold of 101.4 g/t.
Karora Resources Inc announced 2022 gold production guidance of between 110,000 and 135,000 ounces at anticipated all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of US$950 to US$1,050 per ounce sold. The company also said initial nickel production at its Beta Hunt mine in Western Australia this year is forecasted to range between 450 and 550 nickel tonnes.

The latest assays - from last year's drill program - hail from three 'multi-purpose' holes, which continue to delineate high-grade near-surface mineralization at the southernmost extent of the zone, and provide the technical data necessary to design the overall pit slope. Highlight results were a long interval of 101.60 metres (m), starting from just 3.40m depth, at 4.68 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 89.89 g/t silver in one hole. Another hole showed a width of 2.5m from 1.5m depth at 24.13 g/t AuEq (gold-equivalent).

It means the firm expands its footprint at Eby-Otto, bought in 2021, to 1,000 hectares (Ha) from 810 Ha previously. Notably, the acquisition includes a historic shaft and exposed veins near-surface and sits just five kilometres (km) southwest of Agnico Eagle's high-grade Macassa gold mine - an operation which started almost 100 years ago, churning out over 5 million ounces of gold, which still has one of the highest reserve grades in the world. "We are geared up to accelerate this project in 2022," said Matthew Halliday, president of Canada Silver Cobalt Works in a statement. "We have a team with proven success in the Kirkland Lake camp and we are ready to take action and bring real value to this property. We will be completing a drone survey to collect some important geological information very soon, and this will help us make informed decisions as we begin work on these properties.
