Roquefort Therapeutics PLC (LSE:ROQ) appointed Professor Trevor Jones CBE FMedSci, the former director general of the Association of the British Pharmaceuticals Industry (ABPI), to its board as an advisor with immediate effect.
Jones will bring his 45 years’ experience in the biotech industry to the biotech company, which is focused on early-stage opportunities.
He has been responsible for the development of several significant products across many therapeutic areas and also completed lots of key acquisitions for companies, Roquefort noted, while serving on the boards of a number of private and publicly listed companies across the UK, USA, and Europe.
He also serves as an adviser to the UK government on public health matters including COVID-19 and has been a member of the UK Government Regulatory Agency, The Medicines Commission, the Scientific Board of the EU Life Sciences Innovative Medicines Initiative, and chair of the UK Government Advisory Group on Genetics Research.
"Trevor's substantial expertise and track record in driving pre-clinical programmes and value creation in the biotech sector will help the company navigate this exciting phase of its development, as we progress with Lyramid's pre-clinical programme," said Stephen West, Roquefort’s executive chairman.
