Strickland Metals fields strong zinc results from Iroquois prospect at Horse Well

“What’s most promising about the area is that these results are directly along strike from Rumble Resources Ltd’s very large zinc-lead-silver discoveries, demonstrating the exciting potential of what could be located within Strickland’s ten

Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) has discovered zinc-lead mineralisation within the Iroquois prospect of the Horse Well Project (80% Strickland; 20% Gibb River Diamonds (ASX:GIB) Ltd) in the Earaheedy Basin of Western Australia.

Assay results received from a 2021 drilling campaign indicate that the mineralisation continues along strike, highlighting a substantial potentially mineralised zone. Highlight assays include:

  • 3 metres at 7.6% zinc from 65 metres (within a broader 14 metres at 2.2% zinc); and,
  • 10 metres at 3.7% zinc from 123 metres (within a broader 20 metres at 2.4% zinc)

Zinc-lead has also been intersected within a lower grade, shallow oxide zone, including:

  • 23 metres at 1.9% zinc + lead from 18 metres;
  • 15 metres at 1.4% zinc + lead from 21 metres; and
  • 9 metres at 1.7% zinc + lead from 55 metres.

“Very exciting part of the Earaheedy Basin”

“Despite a lengthy delay in receiving the assays, we are pleased to report further zinc-lead mineralisation in what is shaping up to be a very exciting part of the Earaheedy Basin,” Strickland Metals CEO Andrew Bray said.

“These results demonstrate continuity of the previously intersected mineralisation. From previous mapping we’ve done on the ground, we can see repeats of the dolomite unit proximal to this mineralisation, so we are optimistic about the likelihood for repeats of further zinc-lead mineralisation within the tenement package.

“What’s most promising about the area is that these results are directly along strike from Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR)’s very large zinc-lead-silver discoveries, demonstrating the exciting potential of what could be located within Strickland’s tenement tenure.

“While our focus is primarily on our gold projects on the Yandal Belt, this is a very exciting secondary project for Strickland to continue steadily advancing, and we look forward to recommencing drilling during 2022.”

The company awaits assays from Iroquois, and is currently in the process of lodging a new heritage survey program with the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC).

Once clearance is received, Strickland will resume reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the prospect, with more details to be released to the market in due course.
