KGL Resources Ltd (ASX:KGL) has delivered the final set of assay results from its recently completed resource development drilling program of the Rockface deposit within the Jervois Base Metals Project in the Northern Territory.
Like Reward and Bellbird, Rockface assays broadly confirm the existing mineral resource model and will result in refinements to the geological interpretations with notable results including:
- 6.28 metres at 2.39% copper, 20.6 g/t silver, 0.29 g/t gold from 716.07 metres;
- 4.45 metres at 18.88% copper, 396.8 g/t silver, 0.42 g/t gold from 725.35 metres; and
- 4 metres at 19.80% copper, 298.6 g/t silver, 1.10 g/t gold from 698.88 metres.
Encouragingly, the results also confirm the discovery of a higher-grade domain situated near the western margin of the Rockface North lode.
Looking ahead, work has begun on an update to the mineral resource model for Rockface and, together with the already finalised Reward and Bellbird resource estimates, will form the basis for revised and optimised feasibility study mine designs.

KGL managing director Simon Finnis said: “The receipt of the final set of assays from Rockface is an important step on the critical path for delivery of the Jervois feasibility study.
"The results support the overall continuity of the mineralisation and confirm the exciting discovery of a high-grade copper shoot in the west of the deposit.
"Importantly, the receipt of these assays allows us to immediately move to resource estimation of Rockface which, once completed, will combine with Reward and Bellbird updated resources to inform the mine design, Reserve and feasibility study.
“At the present stage of knowledge, the intersection in KJCD481D8, of 3.04% copper, in the Rockface Main lode is the deepest confirmed indication of reportable copper at Rockface and the second deepest for the whole of Jervois after a 4.7% copper intercept in hole KJCD010W1, at Reward Deeps North. “
About Jervois
KGL acquired the Jervois Base Metal Project in the Northern Territory in 2011.
Since that date, the company has successfully defined a JORC resource of 20.97 million tonnes at 2.03% copper and 31.9 g/t silver.
Environmental approval was recommended in October 2019 and KGL’s mining management plan was approved by the NT Government in January 2021.
The known resources at Jervois are spread across multiple prospects that extend along a 12-kilometre strike length in the shape of a J curve.
The project is situated on existing mining leases and benefits from road access to Darwin and Alice Springs by the Stuart and Plenty Highways.
Several prospects have the potential for both open pit and underground mining.
